Join Us – Singing with us is a life changing experience!

Everyone sings somewhere. Where do you sing? Most likely, you sing in the car, the shower, or perhaps in the garden. Most of our Sing Niagara members were shy at first, and worried about their lack of formal music training. In fact over 60% of our singers haven’t had the benefit of music lessons. The majority of our chorus tell us how “they were fearful and overwhelmed at first.” They thought they would never be able to learn how to sing a cappella. Now they are singing “if they could see me now” from the musical Sweet Charity.

Come out to a rehearsal and see for yourself how easy it is to learn the art of four-part harmony. Our weekly rehearsals are open to all women. The fact that formal music training is not a precondition makes us different from many other choral groups in Niagara. We supply the training; you supply your vitality, commitment, and enthusiasm. We have the superglue to put it all together! Try it!

What to expect at Rehearsals

If you want to experience ‘a cappella surround sound,” you have the opportunity to join in the fun right from the start. We invite our guests to sing with us during rehearsal. A songbook and a chorus buddy are yours for the evening. Your chorus buddy helps you navigate the songbook, showing you where to look on the music and answering your questions. We know it can be overwhelming. Everyone in the chorus has had the same experience as a new member.

Rehearsals typically include vocal warm ups, learning new songs, reviewing current repertoire, teaching vocal skills to improve the sound or preparing for an upcoming performance. We sing most of the evening. There is magic in making music together.
